WV PA MD VA Chickenstock in Martinsburg, WV. Sat. April 25th 10 -2

I am so excited! I am getting NPIP'd tomorrow in preparation. I am going back and forth about what I will part with but I will have a couple of these:

*phoenix started pullets from a really beautiful line, most are BBR and golden (I have a magic incubator that hatches only 1 rooster per batch of eggs)

*pair of started bantam polish (nice, white roo/white created blue hen (I think))
*brown red bantam ameraucana chicks out of SQ (I am so excited about these, the eggs are the most beautiful powder blue!)
*Chabo chicks from my black tailed white jap over a grey hen (the one chick I've hatched is identical to momma so grey must be dominant)
*Bantams chochins maaaaybe. I only got 3 viable eggs out of a dozen shipped from 50 miles away. 2 are partridge 1 is red. If they hatch they ought to be decent birds.

I have 10 golden comets which will be two months old by then but I'm not sure I want to part with them. My boyfriend wants to make pickled eggs so he actually likes the idea of these and I gotta grab what I can get!

AND a clunky old hovabator that keeps temps perfect but has some design flaws.

I will have to reschedule my test. The poor guy rear ended someone on his way and I couldn't wait any longer before I had to go to work. He seems to be up here often though (especially if people call and ask for tests *hint hint*). I am not concerned about my lack of a chicken palace. I know it's obvious that while shabby, my birds have it great compared to those commercial chicken concentration camps. I am worried about my pig though, she has diamond skin disease which looks like open bullet wounds. Thousands in vet bills have not cured it. It's not something birds could catch but I worry that I look like a negligent animal mom. I would do anything (and have tried everything) to help my baby girl and nothing helps. I worry it could be MRSA so I'm going to ask the vet about vancomyacin (sp?).

So I did end up getting tested this evening! Poor Jesse after getting into a car accident and hanging around all day waiting outside my house for an hour for me to get home spent close two hours on 11 birds. He had a hell of a time doing my moderns, he said my rooster was the hardest bird he'd ever done. Ideally a little blood drawn from the wing is fairly easy but it was not the case for my babies. Their veins are the width of sewing thread. I bet both my roo's wings are so bruised. The geese were much easier.

Jesse just left my house at 9:20 for a 3.5 hour drive. I am so grateful for his dedication. I had just said I needed it by the 25th and he said " so you're going to Erin's show, huh? She's got those little black things, and those cute little fluffy things!"

I know the blacks are

Kelpie, sorry to hear about your venture and your little piggy. I have a french bulldog that suffers from chronic allergies and yeast infections. We, like you, have tried everything and it is a constant battle just to keep her comfortable and not smelly

Im always on the defense when new people meet her and they are like ..."have you ever tried".. YES, WE HAVE!!!

I've tried vets as well as holistic remedies and a median has been working okay. I think ok is as good as it's gonna get.

Im gonna bring some welsummer peeps and some hatching eggs from my rosecombs and columbians. That's pretty much it for live stuff. We'll also have nesting boxes and a brooder as well as some cutsie chicken stuff.

Can't wait!!

Im calling the papers now to submit the ads.

i wish i could bring some rosecomb eggs.....its a possibility, but i already have a waiting list and theyre being stubborn about laying consistantly in this wierd weather.

So, it's gonna be up to us to help get the word out.

I will post new craigslist ads next week in No. VA, Western MD, PA and WV. But we really need to get these flyers out.

Please pm me your email addy if you'd be interested in posting some in local stores like feed stores, pet stores, grocery and wal-mart stores and anywhere else you think we can post them. Im going to ask TSC if we can post them on the front door the week before the event.

If anyone knows someone at Home Depot or Lowes that would allow us to post flyers on their front doors, that would be awesome!!
