Wyandotte breeders, what do you think about this roo?

Ok, so I'll definitely give him some time and see if the tail grows back

Just for my education, other than the tail, what is wrong with his type? Right now I've got a wide assortment of breeds, mostly one or two hens of each, but I'd eventually like to do some breeding. The biggest thing holding me back is picking a breed and learning what I should be working toward with that breed.

Well if we want to be honest, his hackles are also too brassy...notice the saddle feathers are a much darker mahogany red than the hackles....Its tough to get good red in the hackles and saddle feathers but it can be done if you cull hard for generations. The Partridge have the same problem in some lines of Large Fowl, you just have to keep with it.

In my experience he will find that the rooster has a hump back and that is what is making that tail turn down..
