I was told he was a Blue Wyandotte cockerel 8 weeks old. Is "he" really a he? And what color is he, he doesn't look "exactly" like a blue to me from pictures online. I also got a Blue? Wyandotte pullet who is also in the pictures.
That looks like a cockerel to me. Can you take a comb picture from the top? It's hard to see if it's are a single or a rose comb. Here's another tip, Wyandottes have yellow legs and Blue Orpingtons have slate shanks and pink soles.
It very well can be a blue wyandotte-and at 8 weeks, it could be a boy. If you search about blue dottes, you will notice many DO NOT have yellow legs like they should. This color has been messed with so much(by adding in orpingtons and other breeds), that many do bot carry all the qualities that wyandottes are known for. We raise blue dottes and very few have yellow legs, like they should-and they came from one of the countries top breeders. Give it a little more time and see how it grows out.
I "think" that he has a rose comb. I was looking at his head the other day after I posted this and I noticed that the comb has a "pointy" part growing at the end which isn't attached directly to his head. So I am thinking that it is a rose comb. I deffinately think he is a he now. His comb and wattles are much larger and his legs are very thick, where as the blue pullet has dainty legs and very small wattles and comb.
