I have raised chickens for 35 years. Mostly laying breeds. This past spring I was given 5 gold and black Wyandottes. They are huge and great foragers. Appears to be one roo and 4 hens, but this might not be so. They have yet to lay an egg. I have separated them in their own house, just to see if they would lay as they were not laying in the community hen house. After 4 weeks nothing. About 30 weeks old at this time. Never had this breed before. Any info would be helpful.

Since they are pullets, they may still lay on schedule. Are their combs red or just pink? Do they squat at all?

as mentioned, light plays an important role in egg laying. The decreasing daylight of the fall will cause chickens to stop or delay laying. You could add light to the coop, on a timer, and have them start getting “increasing” light by tricking them with a light bulb. Just increase the amount of light every few days to achieve around 14 hours of light total. Most people do this by adding light in the morning.

We have a SLW and two GLW. They all started to lay around 26 -28 weeks. If their combs and wattles are red, they should be close to POL.
