Wyoming Unite!!!!

Hmmmm...do I detect a hint of "doggone it, I miss my chickens and I'm getting more-itis?" And why do people in Wyoming wake up so early in the morning? I've been up since 5:00 (time change means my body says it was 4) and can't do a doggone thing yet because Ken's still sleeping!

Some of us are old men and don't have any choice in the matter.

Beautiful birds (and eggs) Bob! Do you get auto-sexing chicks with this mix?

No, no auto-sexing or sex links from this cross. Personally I prefer selling straight run and not having to deal with getting stuck with a bunch of cockerels. I do however have a really good success ratio in picking out pullets.

Hi all! New Wyomingite over here! I have 15 chicks I ordered from My Pet Chicken. 6 Australorps, 3 RIR, 3 barred rocks and 3 Wyandottes. I used their breed selection tool and all of theses ladies are all supposed to be cold hardy..because it's Wyoming, am I right

.. I'm in Baggs and these chicks join beef cattle, pigs, sheep, and a couple stock dogs. Glad to meet all you other WY chicken farmers!

Welcome. I'm Sara in Laramie. I know from experience the Wyandottes and the Barred Rocks will be good. I haven't had any of the others you mentioned in the winter but I've read they are cold hardy as well.

<sigh> It is now! With your kind permission I'd like to snag the second one and use it for my computer wallpaper, just to remind me......

That is fine with me but it still isn't spring and we haven't seen the last of the snow or freezing temperatures. It still made my day to see these popping up.

Last year I had blooming Johnny Jump Ups in February. No blooms yet this year.
