Um, if by any slim chance they turn out not to be the best thing you could have eaten, can I have your incubator and eggs?

You are out of luck. The only things that I experienced were satisfied taste buds and a desire for more. I ended up eating the whole batch. They were better hot from being freshly cooked but even the cold ones were tasty.

Rock springs wy here! Does anyone still post on this thread? I'm new to this site and only seeing stuff from 2013. We aren't chicken owners yet but are wanting to get silkies! Eventually it would be nice to get chickens that lay eggs on a regular basis but silkies were my favorite pets as a kid and I would like to share the experience with my own! :) just wondering if anyone knows a breeder in the sweetwater county area!

If you have any local feed stores, check with them and perhaps post an ad on their bulletin board. They will know who buys feed and often can put people in touch with those raising chickens.

Unfortunately our craigslist is for the whole state but you can place an ad in both the farm+garden and/or the wanted section. I know there are people around that have silkies but I am not one of them. As I recall @Blooie has succumbed to the silkie bug.

Hi, welcome to the WY state thread!

There aren't a whole lot of us on here (or in the state for that matter, lol) but a few of us are around.

Nice to have you join us!

Welcome! We're here - we're just waiting to see how @R2elk does with the mushrooms he cooked and ate so we can swoop in like vultures and pick his chicken ranch clean!

I have Silkies. I hatched them out with eggs I got from @RubyNala97 and despite being shipped eggs had a great hatch. Now have more on order from Cackle Hatchery, and they'll be shipped out on April 3. Locally I don't know who would have them, so the advice you got earlier is about as sound as you're going to get. In these parts (ranching, farming, mostly rural) you'll find the vast majority of feed store chicks are the utilitarian kind, not the pocket lint kind - aside from some assorted Banties in a store or two. I happen to like my pocket lint kind of chicken because my granddaughters like them, but most of my birds are an assortment of standards.

I'm not ignoring them, silly Bob! They just aren't Silkie chicks for Katie and Kendra. Ken ordered Silkie chicks from Cackl for the little ones, especially Kendra. You know me - I'd far rather have real chickens, like oh, say, CCLB, but we can't seem to hook up and now Ken's totally laid up!

Well I was almost right about the cream legbar eggs in the incubator being infertile. There is one fertile egg that got moved to the hatcher today.

I am in trouble. 151 of the 194 eggs that I put in the incubator got moved to the hatcher for lockdown tonight. There are 72 potential Sapphires in there.

Keep us posted on how your hatch goes Bob...sounds like you could have your very own chick invasion!
