Do they taste like the purple ones?
Milder, and the birds actually leave them get ripe while they are going after the black ones. The bottom photo is from a tree right next to a Canada Red Chokecherry which isn't even ripe yet but the robins have it almost completely stripped but aren't touching the yellow ones.

A nice thing about the yellow ones is that they will grow true from seeds. I also have runners which I would give away in the spring when the trees are dormant.

They look like they produce a lot. Have you ever made wine or anything with them?

Yes. They make a wonderful wine. They also make excellent chokecherry jelly.

I haven't tried to make chokecherry syrup with them but suspect it too would be good.
Chokecherry wine is the best! My parents make syrup from the purple ones but I’ve never even seen those golden ones. Beautiful.

They were found growing near Sheridan. I bought two many years ago. I have 2 more that I started from seed.

One of the originals is putting out runners which I give away in the spring while they are still dormant. The two I started from seed are putting out runners this year.
