Wyoming?

The reason I went to Idaho is I have family there. It does help. Most of our mr's have come out of EZdaes also. Another line is out of Silos. She is in Montana.

Yup! It's SO much easier when you have family to stay with! A LOT cheaper too! I just booked a hotel for Castle Rock next weekend. $150 for one night, and we won't even get there till 2 AM!

Hopefully we'll be dug out by then. The roads here have started to close and its only supposed to get worse. Last week I was waiting for an order of birds during our storm. Amazingly the chicks arrived alive although I lost over half of my javas within 48 hours, and the next day the turkeys got here with only 2 of 30 dead but I lost a few more the next day. This week I can relax because they are all safe and warm in the brooder. I also got my good ND doe in before she kindles. I lost a litter of NZ due to the storm.

Oh, the weather is ridiculous! We got 18 inches Monday, which closed schools and businesses early. Then we got another 12 inches Tuesday/Wednesday, which closed schools Wednesday and delayed school Thursday. NOW we're under advisory AGAIN!

I've heard it supposed to be like this every few days for a few weeks! We get 12 inches of snow, the next day it's 50 or 60 out. Then the snow comes again! I'm hoping we make it to Castle Rock! We were supposed to go to Billings for Easter, but with all the snow I doubt we'll make it!

Just got electricity back. Luckly we have a wood stove or I would have lost a lot of birds. We were without for over 8 hours. What color Japanese do you have? What color of Silkies do you have? I need to figure out what your hatching when so I can plan a trip to Casper if that works for you. I am also waiting to find out how a hatch from Chicken Woman works out. That way though I could get some unrelated birds and that would be wonderful as I am buying an incubator from her. My dogs ate part of my old one.

I have BTB Japs, but they're just babies. I have SQ BBS Silkies, and SQ Mille Fleur d'Uccles. Also BEI/Call ducks and Toulouse geese. And coturnix quail!
I have hatches pretty much every week, as I'm overbooked on orders and Murdoch's wants me to supply their chicks too. I need a bigger bator! I have 4 (2 lg and 2 hovas) but I can't keep up! LOL

What breeds are you looking for? I have so many eggs coming I should have something of what you'd like! Right now I have standard cochins, RIR, Silkies, d'Uccles, geese, and bantam ducks in the bators. I'll also have BR, BO, RIR, Porcelain d'Uccles, and more that I've forgotten coming this week and next! And some varietys of purebred eggs.

I would like to get about 5 ducks. BEI are fine. I won't know if I am getting any silkies from MT for a few more days. It will depend on her hatch. She also had another breed I was very interested in. If I get silkies from Mt I would like a few just so I could have 2 unrelated strains. I also would love to have some Porcelins. But let me know what you might have extras of. Also, I had a phone call last night from a lady looking for a rabbit for her child for 4-H. No specific breed but if I remember correctly before she had told me she kind of wanted a meat or fur breed. If you know of anybody that might have something let me know. I have a blue otter nd due in the next couple of days but nothing else due for just under a month.

Hi! God it's been crazy here! I can set some of the BEI/Call eggs I have for you, if you want them started! I have lots of extra bantam breeds, like silkies and mille fleur d'uccles. I did just set some bantam cochins and porcelains. I also have more silkies and d'uccles in the hatcher. I'll look for sure at what I do have now and let you know. I would be interested in trading for some eggs. I'm badly in need of laying breeds, and somehow I think my darn turner is cracking eggs! I had it happen to some LF eggs, and I just pulled 4 white cochin eggs that I KNOW were NOT cracked when I put them in... Not sure what's going on there!
I do have 2 babies right now, they're not even 3 weeks though. I should have some litters around the end of the month. We didn't make the rabbit show, as it was cancelled due to the weather. Doubt we would have made it even if they hadn't cancelled, as the weather here was wretched Friday!
I've lost track of what eggs I have right now. I know I have silkies, d'uccles, RIR, BO, Ameraucana, Ameraucana/Cochin, cochin (LF and bantam) and I know I have more cochins, Ameraucana, BBS Rocks, and Golden Lakenvelders on the way. Oh, and some goose eggs and duck eggs in the bators too. I think that's it LOL But I'll make a list of what I have started and let you know too! I know I for sure have silkies, d'uccles, polish, and bantam ducks right now.

Wow LOL Talk about rambling!

I thought maybe you were still snowed in in Colorado! I do understand how busy this time of year is. The ducks would be great. Whatever of the bantams you can get to hatch and have extra of I would consider. If I can get my chickens split up I might be able to get you some Rhode Island Red eggs. I only have one rooster and he is with all of my hens except the babies of course. My layers are Rhode Island reds, americanas, and black australorps so I have a lot of mixed. I may be able to get my rirs seperated for a few days for some eggs. My nd didn't take and I have rebred 3 does and will do more this weekend. Hopefully the warm weather will help with fertility. Every kid in Sheridan Co. calls me looking for rabbits. If breeding was as easy as everyone thinks it is I would be wealthy.

Oh I know! We started 4H this year too, so everyone knows we show in ARBA shows and know I have pretty good lines. So they all want my bunnies. Which would be AWESOME if I could get them to TAKE! I have 2 does bred now. I would have more but I have to have SOMETHING to take to Cheyenne for the show in May! LOL Our best mini rex buck got out with our best flemish giant buck, so the MR is not showable anymore, he is missing a BIG chunk of ear. He's still a great brood buck though! I just never got him registered for his GC title. That's a bummer!
Right now, I'm overrun by d'uccles and silkies. My d'uccles are SQ, and some of the silkies will be too. I do have some BEI eggs set aside to set, so I'll get them going for you and let you know when we have duckies!
A friend and I are talking about taking a trip to Gillette to a breeder's up there for some eggs from her laying breeds, so we could figure something out to get all of this done at once!
I'll keep you updated as to my hatches and how they go. I have some RIR in the hatcher now, but they were due today so I dunno. I've been having hatches 2 days late for some reason (my temps are supposedly accurate) so I'll know by the end of the weekend how those go. I have more RIR, BO, cochins (LF and Bantam) and Ameraucana still cooking. Some other various breeds too. So I'm sure I'll have something LOL I would take some mix breed eggs from you too, as they are just as cute and good layers!
