x mas inlaws dont dig my gals!

I guess we alll do in some for or fashion! My daughter told me I was insane when she came to visit and she walked outside with me to lock the coop up for the night, I was saying goodnite Blackie, goodnite Rudy, goodnite MissBeth and so on Waltons style...I do love my babies.
When your mother-in-law or anyone else wants to be hurtful just try ignoring them and if that don't work look at them and say Too Bad you don't understand!
Merry Christmas everyone here at BYC!

In-laws, what can you say, I'm sorry we are both in the same boat. You can't shoot them and you can't feed them to the chickens. Stupid laws.

thanks you guys, i won't take it to heart. i can take her comments. it's just that i REALLY dont understand how someone could really find beef w/ chickens lol. it may just be a power thing. i know she's over the top w/ her son. oh man, HEADACHE! lol back when i was a younger gal i came a little too close to belting her in the face once. i didnt even know it! she looked down at my balled fist during an argument and she said, " Are you going to hit me?" and i looked down, opened my fist and stated, "No." lol

lol.. don't knock witches... lol....

I keep chickens too.... lol...

Really I think someone els said it is not about the chickens or your dogs it is about POWER!!!!!

Not all mother in laws are like this I am sure, but I am so sorry that you are having this difficultyat this time of year.

You spend a whole hour musing on how wonderful your husband is and how suppotive and kind and how he loves the eggs fresh every day, and how you are doing your very best to take the best care of your wonderful man..... lol.... let her argue with that!!!!!!

I will just change one letter and say that that suits her much better. It is cruel unkind and very rude to treat a host in the way she is treating you and it is a true sign of how afraid she really is that she ahs to attack you in this way.

So be proud, never mind her words, just watch a scared older woman writhing in fear that she has lost her son to a nicer lady.

You enjoy Christmas and your girls,

Jena.

i've never had them, everyone that comes to my house has chickens or grew up around them. and i never offer my eggs as... i dont eat them you wouldn't even know they were there unless you looked out the back window, heard the crows. or walked to the backyard

or maybe people just never say anything because once someone makes a rude comment to me i HAVE TO respond with something sarcastic and or "intelligent"

Drop the chicken talk with her and don't mention your birds anymore. I know that they are your "joy" and it will be difficult to do. Then when she mentions a sweet comment about her little doggie that she brought on her visit to "your" house, ask her when it was last bathed? If she asks, tell her the pooch smells. Also, say maybe next time when you visit you might want to plan on bording. That will shut her up or get rid of her! I guess I just have a mean streak today! But I get tired of holding my tongue from arogant comments from others, my so-in-so is the all time favorite, but your so-in-so isn't quite up to par. Phoooey!!! I do hope that you can find it in your heart to enjoy her visit though. If not for your sake maybe for someone else. After all, it is Christmas! It might nearly kill you but at least try. Wishing you the best.

Right now my run DOES stink. It's been raining here and it's wet and yucky. It's supposed to rain for the next few days so it wouldn't help much to clean it out right now. Chickens are messier in winter. Just the way it is I guess.

I don't listen to people like that. My neighbor really insulted me when I told her I was getting chickens.......now she loves it and comes over for chickenvision and eggs. And she thinks my having two pigs is great too.

Sorry she hurt your feelings.

Mary
