Ya ever see something an just think..... WHY!

DaniGirl, Thank you for your comments. Maybe people didn't intend to hurt anyones feelings, however they sure weren't thinking before they spoke. I know I would never say anything negative about someones hard work. But oh well, I guess some people weren't raised the same way as I was. Thanks again for your compliments and have a great day.

Emily,

Welcome to BYC. I do hope you will visit often. It really is a very educational site. I think you will find that most people here are very helpful, positive, and genuinely good natured.

Please tell your husband I would love to own that coop! As well, I do hope you will encourage him to build more!

Best wishes,
Kathy

Mojo Chick'n :

64 square feet - if the chickens hover in mid air, maybe.

4x4 = 16 square feet of floor space.

seems he is overstating the chicken holding volume.

plus, it just looks weird

It said 64 cubic feet, which is the total area of the whole inside of the coop. Idk why they would measure it that way?

Read the first post from Emily (wifeofchickenman). Her husband James built it. And if you look at his Ebay listing he corrected himself there too.

For lot of buildings (like the prefab sheds) you buy, you get measurements AND cubic feet. Makes sense if you are selling on Ebay which is what the video was for. If he had made the video to post here he might have done it differently but it ended up here when someone posted his Youtube link to this forum. James himself never asked for our input or opinions but he sure got them:)

Yep - Lots of thought & hard work went into this urban coop. He wanted it off the ground and designed a unique way to get it that way. It's super sturdy - lots of ventilation - predator proof - easy floor to wipe clean (my coop has linoleum on the bottom & I love it) - roosting pole above the nestboxes (so the chickens won't be tempted to sleep in the them).

The video was meant for prospective buyers (so they would REALLY know what they are getting), not for our entertainment.

I think it is a great coop and has some unique workmanship!. I think those who don't like it should take the advise I'm sure their parents gave them at one point or another - "If you don't have something nice to say - don't say anything at all"
