Three smiles--- I live in the boonies and love it--the only thing that would make it better would be if I lived more in the boonies. My saying has always been" I wanted to live far enough out that who ever comes down the drive either knows me or is LOST." ALL the reasons you BYCers have mentioned here apply. When directions to your home involve:

Make the first right after the buffaloes.

Say hi to the pig, he'll be on your right after the 2nd turn.

If you see cattle, you've gone too far.

Try not to run over my ducks, they are out grazing.

Make sure to pet my favorite chicken, Scarlett, if she's on the front porch. If you don't, she's likely to complain bitterly and not lay an egg tomorrow.

The one about the daughter would not go out because she was still in pjs.....this reminded me of this,

We had Momma bear and cubs last year around and when hubby needed something out of his work van at night naturally he asked our son to go get it. He would not!!! Hubby did and he ran pretty good too lol
