Yahooo!!!! Day 20 w/ Blue Ameraucanas! *PIPS*

Mille fluers are banties, and very pretty ones at that. With feathered feet and oh so sweet in temperment according to feathersite. Check them out!

You know me. I'd poke a hole in #1 by this point and see if there was anybody in there...

I gotta take both dd's to the orthodontist. Hopefully the bucket will work and I can see some pics tonight!

DH was funny last night. Ready for bed and aggravated that I was so tired and yet not shutting the computer down. He asked 'What's the deal?'
I said, "I can't go to bed until I check on my hatch buddy one more time!"
He huffed a real big sigh and rolled his eyes. I just had to laugh.

Thanks again for all the support!

Tell your DH thanks from me. My DH was the same way when I followed your first hatch. But I have to say he was a huge help last night, esp w/ his whistling technique. He remembered his grandpa doing it to help encourage the hatch. I think it brought up a lot of childhood memories for him. He was talking sweet to all the other babies in the brooder last night & combined the ADHD BO boys w/ the EE girls claiming that they were lonley.

You are a bad, bad enabler friend.

Mille fluers are very lovely! I will show dd a picture of them.

OK, I'll go check on the egg#1. I just have a bad feeling about it.

Yup. I am a baaaad girl. But they are pretty and I'll bet your dd would love them. You have plenty of green egg layers now!

That's so sweet that your DH whistled them out. These may be our toys, but the guys like them more than they can admit. Remind me to tell you a story about that later...
I hope your dd got see her daddy whistling babes out of the shell. What a perfect family memory that will be some day!

I have a bad feeling about #1 too. That's why I say get it over with so you can clean up and move on. No sense running the bator for hours over a dud. And if it's not a dud... Well then you're back to pacing and whistling!!

Yep, It's bad. No egg#1. I finally got brave enough to candle and take a peek inside. I could tell right away that it wasn't alive. I don't know when it expired. I never saw or heard a peep from it during the whole hatch. I'm glad I did this before dd got home from school. I don't think it had enough room and plus had the misplaced airsac. It was a very lovely light, bluish- silvery one. It's yolk sac was not absorbed either.

It's probably a good thing I didn't help it, b/c it would have been a weak one. I knew that there were pros and cons to hatching before I attempted it. It just wasn't meant to be for this little one.

One the bright side I do have 5 out of the 6 that are very, very cute. They all seemed to hatch healthy w/ no yolk sac issues. I'm down loading the pics to computer now.

Hooray!
A diagnoses on #1 before I absolutely had to leave to get the girls. I'm glad you checked before yours got home. Now it's all completed and you're ready to focus on all the babes

You'll have babies in just a little over 3 weeks!

Time to unplug & clean up the bator. I'll try to post pics soon or I'll at least e-mail you some. I just got them downloaded to the computer.
