YANKEE OR DIXIE

I Denounce this accusation that I may have any southern tendencies y'all!!

65% Dixie - a definitive southerner. Don't really see how this is possible given that I was bred, born & raised in Northern California - third generation on both sides! My grandpappy will roll in his grave!

73% dixie... oh yeah!

I don't think they have california fully represented. :-( I actually interacted with ONLY my mom for the first 5 years of my life...and she's from So.Cal, even if we were living in Texas.

barg, you -must- have southern tendencies.... you spelled the contraction of you-all correctly (y'all) :)

Y'all have a good day now! Hope you have a nice crawdad boil or BBQ with lots of tea for Labor day.

That was pure sarcasm, when I was a teenager I lived next to some kids that were from the south; I probably picked up a few things from them
I thought "Y'all" was funny, so I used it but only jokingly

As for crawdads, (yes I call them cawdads, Is that southern?)I used to catch them in the river but we didnt eat them, that would be gross, they were pets

I really don't know. My English is mutt english., with a good amount of Australian thrown in there from my school years.

But crawdads/crayfish boiled in a spicy flavouring mix sure are tasty! Wouldn't want to eat a pet though:(

LOL.... DH says I'm actually nothing being a Cali girl... Im not in the Dixie nor the Yanke Catagori... we are a breed all our own.

I wonder how many of you Californians would agree with this

Well, I can tell ya, the first I ever heard of eatin' crawdads, Granny (Beverly Hillbillies) was in a state park in California fixin' to smoke some crawdads! The beatniks she ran into were awfully interested. 'Course, granted that wasn't typical California behaviour!
Then again we never had them as pets either. We played with them in the ditch, but knew better than to take them home!

61% (Dixie).

That's a funy score, because I don't have a southern accent, and I talk fairly proper up until I get wound up on someone, and then the southern accent shows through.
