Has anyone used these for digging protection?

That looks more appropriate for like where your neighbors dog keeps trying to dig under the fence , lol.
Hardware cloth skirt is about as simple as it gets and what most people use

Probably would work on bigger diggers (i.e. dogs) but the gaps are big enough that rats and mice could easily slip in between spikes.

In my area, you would get those in about a inch before they would hit rocks and bend.

All the reasons above, plus the cost would not be insignificant.
