Chick One is a BJG x BLRW. I think she's a female... FYI, her Mom had wattles early. She's very affectionate and will follow me around.
Here's a tail feather shot -
Chick Two is an EE x BLRW as is his lighter-headed brother (Chick Three) in the background. (I hope I'm wrong on both and that they're girls!)
And here's the lighter-headed EE x BLRW chicklet (Chick Three).
And here's the SS x BLRW chick (Chick Four). I hope she's a female. Her mother also had wattles early.
Chick Five is a NHR x BLRW chicklet. I'm hoping she's a female as well. She's also pretty docile, though she will peck at the other chicks when they fight and she usually wins the stare-down battles. Her Mom was super aggressive to the other birds and mounted the lower-ranked birds frequently.
Chick Six is a GLW x BLRW. She's very quiet, will be low in the pecking order, but can be feisty with her brothers and sisters. She's not affectionate, but will let me touch and pet her and will eat from my hand if her sibs are around. Her mother is either the alpha hen who went broody, or the current alpha hen who took over while Momma was nesting.
That's my first batch of chicklets! Six total, all healthy, all getting scared sh#&less by the Big Birds as they all figure out the new pecking order, and all hatched on 23 or 24 May 2019. Chick Two is the only one who acts like a mini-cockerel. Everyone else is still pretty laid back... I know it's sometimes harder to tell with EEers, but please give me your best guess on all these babies!
