Yawning Pullet

If I start her on a vitamin therapy am I just grasping at straws. Because, the initial problem (that I saw anyway) was the 'yawning'. Would that be caused from a vitamin deficiency?

The yawning is her adjusting her crop. Why is she adjusting her crop? Something is bothering her about it... Does she have a blockage? Sour crop? A growth or tumor? Something else? These are things you will need to investigate. Remember that problems can be 'further down the tubes' so to speak and you may not ever know if it's internal. See how she does with eating soft, nutrient-dense foods and if she can pass them, etc. If it's a tumor or growth there is nothing much you can do short of a vet and surgery (and this is hardly guaranteed to help, especially if it's lymphoma).

The yawning and paralysis may or may not be related. I'm afraid I can't tell you. It was just an idea that if she has a digestive blockage, vitamin intake might be reduced (though most deficiencies are a longer term issue, I don't want to rule it out).

Her yawning is methodical. Every other second essentially. It's not like she's gasping for air, it's just like a reflex or something. And as far as her eating, she's not eating anything. I've tried pieces of hard boiled egg and other things, but she doesn't even peck. I just squirt stuff down her throat when she opens it.

Thanks for all your help and input. Feel free to TELL me what to do. I'm a sissy and my husband is wanting to take her in the woods and shoot her tomorrow. I'm not sure if I should keep trying or if I'm really dragging it out for her.
