That particular hen started laying at about 19weeks and that was about three months ago. All three PRs are laying now as are all 3 of the araucanas. We have two RIRs that are laying hit & miss and one RIR that has yet to lay at all.
aww yay!!!! I have another PR named Lola she is not laying yet and is 18 weeks old too, I also have 2 SLW's named Missy and Majestic, both 18 weeks and not laying yet. opened the egg I just got a few hours ago with out a shell and it is fertile! By BO Roo is doin his job
I'm sorry i do not really know much about breeds, looking up online i found that a Production Red; Large egg size. (cross between New Hampshire Red hen and Rhode Island Red Rooster)
*Red sex link; (cross between Delaware Hen and Rhode Island Red Rooster) Large egg layer...
If you are asking if they are the same thing I really don't know.. but like i said i know really nothing about breeds.. maybe someone else will come along thats knows alot about this stuff. sorry, as for the egg waiting, it depends on the pullet i suppose, she will lay when she is ready. It seems like it takes forever though huh?!.. Thanks you all for the congrats! I hope i get a "real egg" tonight from her.. ha ha ones without shells are kinda creepy looking and my hubby wouldn't eat it unless it looked like a normal egg *bless his goofy heart*.
