yay!!!..i got my first duck egg!! i have some questions though..

okay..so my questions are...do ducks need the layer feed also!..and can i use my chicken layer feed?..and..can my rooster eat the layer feed?..or do i have to hang a seperate feeder for him(i have only one little guy..)..and if i do have to hang a seperate feeder for him...what if my girls eat the regular feed..and not the layer?..*sigh*...i'm discovering you gotta be a rocket scientist to have a flock of birds!...

Our hens, roosters and ducks all eat the same layer ration. However, they also have about 2 acres to range in and are able to add other nutrients to their diets. We haven't had any problems. Everybody is fat & happy. If your birds are confined, it might be different. Maybe someone else could advise you on that situation. Congrats on your first duck egg!! They are very tasty.
