We are now up to 9 hatched, 6 more pipped or zipping and a few that we are waiting to see if they are going to hatch.

Sorry, long day here. First time I've been online all day, so I'm just barely getting your updates!

How exciting!!!! I'm SO jealous! So what are those cochins? Lavender or mille? And what else have you got hatched so far? Can't wait for pics of the rest... they're helping me bide my time for 3 or 4 more days til mine come. I'm hoping for an early hatch!

thanks jossanne - - I posted a separate post about candling my eggs . . . I think I'll have d'uccles but not so sure about the cochins

I have hatched two lavendar cochins and a seven molted cochins, japanese black tail white, two sizzles, one that was just marked "mix" so kind of a mystery, and one barred OEG. They are all so cute!! I left the other 8 eggs that, were still alive and moving when I locked them down, in the incubator. I will try to get some good pictures and add them soon.

Sounds excellent. I'll cross my fingers for the last 8 eggies!

I still have a couple days to wait. Think I'll go to the feed store on Tuesday and pick up some egg layers to raise with my 3 little cochins (counting my chickens before they hatch). That way they'll hopefully stay warm more easily, and I can boost my layer numbers up a bit. My hens are all turning two.

I'm totally addicted to them, and we can all see why! Look at how cute those babies are!!! I want lavs badly. Hopefully my b/b/s ones will be beautiful, and I can get a lav to mix in with them.
