YAY I have another broody! Change of plans - due 4/28!

I think that the other 8 will not be hatching:( We had terrible storms last night and lost power for a few hours. The incubator was at 89 when I went back to bed. I was going to candle tonight but there is not really very much chance of hatching at this point. The others are all doing very well. They didn't like the storm or when their heat lamp went out.

If you are looking for lavendars.....my eggs came from pamperpoultry. She did a great job on packing eggs and all chicks look very healthy.

Sorry about your power outage and the last 8 eggs. Darn! But you had a good hatch, anyway. I'm so excited for you!

Where is pamperedpoultry? I'm not having the best of luck getting eggs shipped from too far away.

She is in VA I think. She did a great packing job. She had some eggs listed in the 24 hour auction section. I had to hold myself back!!

Will be awaiting your pictures!

No pips yet, but I hear peeping inside the eggs!

Well, the hatch is complete. One blue baby.

I opened up the other two eggs, and the babies had died fully developed. I don't know why. I wonder if bad wind and low humidity outside messes with eggs under a broody hen?

So I moved the baby and the mama, and gave her 5 standard chicks that I bought on Tuesday to raise. I'll take the bantam baby away from her tomorrow so I can hand raise it. It's amazing how a new mama hen will just take in all the babies I'd give her. She would have taken all 14 of the feed store chicks if she'd had room under her. Those babies will outgrow that mama in no time flat!

Here's the new bantam baby:

And here is mama with a standard buff cochin:

One out of eleven is horrible, and I'm very sad.

Not faulting the egg seller... those eggs were packed beautifully. They must have had a horrible trip from Indiana, and the 50mph wind.

Sorry that you didn't get more. Your baby is very cute!! I like your other babies that you gave to the momma too. Isn't is remarkable how the mommas will take care of other's chicks.

I found that a few of my shipped eggs were very watery and had bubbles. I also had a few that we developed that didn't hatch and I have no idea why. I had 21 alive and moving when they went on lockdown. I only hatched 14. Temperature and humidity were fine throughout the final few days so I don't know.

I am truly addicted....I have another dozen coming from Pampered Poultry!! They shipped yesterday!! I'll let you know how it goes!

I am dying for an incubator, because I'm addicted too. My birthday's in June, and I've already asked my husband...

So what are you getting from Pampered Poultry this time? More of the same? Color me jealous!!! Good luck with them!
