yay!!! I just got my EE hatching eggs from Carole at fowlvisions!

I have one that looks like it may be getting a bacterial ring like I've seen in some pictures on here. I set it by itself so I can keep a close eye on it. It may be just blood vessels I'm not sure. I know some are doing great and some I just cant tell for sure. I'm trying not to candle again for a couple of days(except maybe the one I think is going bad) I dont think I have any weeping yet. Not sure what to look for but I'm guessing I'd know it if I saw it? Good luck silverstar, I guess your about to lockdown. I hope all goes well. Sorry to hear you have lost some eggs new2chooks. I hope the rest hatch for you.

It was obvious which one was weeping. I went to take it out of the turner to candle it, and it was stuck to the egg turner, which took a bit of the shell off. It had a crack in the pointy end. I sealed it with wax, but then I got worried about it since I could see lots of bubbles in it when I candled it, so I took it out and tossed it. Didn't want it exploding and contaminating the rest.

how many did you start with and how many have you lost? I'm just not sure about mine. I'm not that sure what I'm looking for while candling. There's nothing really obvious. At what point can you see movement to tell for sure there's something alive in there?

I started with 15 and just lost the weeping 1, so now down to 14.

I have no idea how long until movement can be seen. I'm on Day 6 now, so I'd be thrilled just to see veins.

I recently hatched some eggs from Fowl Visions...I had 6 out of 12 hatch...which is good for shipped eggs...I got some pretty neat colored chicks...

Candling is real hard at first but you get the hang of it really quick. good luck sit on your hands and wait patiently for your chickies.

Well I candled again. ( I know I said I was gonna wait. I suck at waiting lol) I found a couple that were just not developing.

I cracked them and seen that 2 of the fowlvisions were not fertile after all

(told ya I suck at candling, I thought they were ) 1 of them was fertile but quit and had a blood ring so I got rid of it too. I also lost a few of the one's of my own, not a big surprise as they are pullet eggs. They werent fertile either& one even turned out to be a double yolker. Wish it wouldve been fertile, I wouldve liked to see how that turned out. Well anyway I'm now down to 10 of 13 of the green/blue easter egger eggs and 3 of my own pullet eggs (wr & bo)
Keep your fingers crossed for the rest of my batch.
