I just have to post a picture of our Buff Orpingtons' very first egg. It is so cute and tiny...Do we have to eat it? (Actually my DH will insist on eating it so I took lots of pictures).
Buffy is 22 weeks old. Her comb and wattles have been red for over a month and she's been doing the egg squat for 2 weeks. Now, we are waiting for the RIR and PBR to start giving us eggs. They are all the same age.

Here is her tiny pink egg in the center of the nest box...Yes, she actually used the nest box without any older examples. I'm so excited and proud of her!

Of course you have to eat it! It's going to be the best tasting egg you've ever had!

    Congrats!

Yes, you must eat it but you can scramble it instead so you can blow out the egg and save it. I'm making my little eggs into Easter decorations.

Yep, you've got to eat it. You don't want all of the effort she put into producing that egg to go to waste, do you? [IMG]
