Yellow comb?

Its 22 deggrees out and my almost 5 year old Plymouth rock got a opening wound on her comb. It happened less than 24 hrs ago. But part of it is turning yellow. Its too cold for infection infection what is going on. There is normal blood showing in one spot. Underneath the yellow stuff is healthy tissue.
 
I will when I get home but rn I'm in college vet course class...
 
It is hard and feels like comb skin. Kinda weird since its freezing out could be from fencing or wild bird biting her thx for replying I'll post pic in 2 hrs once I get home
 
It sounds like the comb has gotten some frostbite. Can you post a picture. Here is a picture from poultry dvm of a later stage of frostbite:
