I noticed today that one of my hens has a yellow crusty/pale comb. I cannot find anything that looks similar online…has anyone seen something like this before? I looks like a fungal infection but I am unsure. I see no mites/lice and it is only on the head. No feather loss. Since today is the first day I’ve seen it, I have not tried any treatments yet. All other hens look fine, all droppings are normal, all are eating and drinking normally. Any guidance would be appreciated!

If it’s fungal, you can treat it with athletes foot ointment. Just rub it on the comb. Anything with -zole; Clotrimazole, miconazole, any anti fungal treatment a person would use. This fungal condition is called “favus” in chickens. Easily treated. Good luck!!
