Yellow fluid under wings. What disease is this?

generally a laying hen needs about 1/4 pound of feed per day. i use this feeder and have to refill it about every other day i have 13 chickens.

Grit should be kept in a container of its own
oyster shells should be in its own container as well.
get 2 containers for them and just fill them when the chickens empty the containers. chickens will only take what they need so these 2 are easy.
i keep my grit by my chicken door in the coop, i use a metal mini party favor pail ( they are a little bigger then a coffee cup) fill as needed.
i keep my oyster shells in the corner of my nesting box . i use the same little type of pail for this, and same as grit i fill when needed.

when i let out my chickens in the A.M. i fill the water dish, check for eggs, take a peek at the feeder to check levels, peek over at the grit and shell stations. top off as needed. i usually let the feed go all the way empty before i fill it but thats just to ensure theres never any old feed in my feeder.

anyways hopefully i helped a little without too much rambling lol.

Hi guys, great news! My birds got much better after I changed their feeding according to your suggestions. Their appetite improved, they got bigger, the yellow fluid disappeared and one of them even laid an egg! Thank you so much! I'm glad I found this place. You guys have been a great help to me.

I have one more question. Should I always feed them the poultry booster?

So glad to hear great news!:wee

Just wonderful! Must have been exciting to get that first egg - Congratulations:)

The Poultry Booster won't hurt them. Since there was a delay in development and a problem with health due to nutrition, personally I would continue to use it.

I'm so happy for you and your birds!!!! Fantastic news! I wanted to follow up, but I lost track of the thread. Thank you for the update!

I'm not as experienced as others who have already responded, but I would probably continue the Booster at least for a while, as long as there aren't any possible negative side effects.

Thanks for the good news!!!
:ya
