Hi,
I have chicks from Meyer Hatchery that are 11 days old. I ordered 15 assorted rare breed and one meal maker. I have a good idea what breeds they are except for this yellow chick. I was thinking white leghorn but as she’s feathering out I’m seeing color. I couldn’t get a decent head shot but she has a single comb. Does anyone have an idea what breed she might be? Thanks so much!

If I were to guess.. I would say New Hampshire just because it looks like my old New Hampshire Red (cockerel but that’s not always the case) as a chick.

You won’t know for certain until it starts feathering out fully as many breeds can have that similar feather types. It’s a type of camouflage to protect the young chicks as the start to gain their feathers. These will molt out and the real plumage will show soon.
