this chick (day old, assisted hatch) has a kind of bloody yellow thing stuck on its vent. It hasn't fluffed up yet but when I try to pull it out with tweezers, it brings along a long tube. I don't want to pull out it's inside parts so I just left it there but what should I do now? It has been there since it got out of the egg. Dried up yolk maybe?

Are you sure that’s the vent and not the bellybutton? If it’s dried yolk, and the bellybutton, then leave it be. If it has a herniated umbilical sometimes it’ll dry up and the chick will be fine. Other times they won’t be. I find that sometimes wrapping the chick in a warm damp towel helps. But if the chick has been out of the egg for awhile it might be better to let it heal on its own.

I think it might just be an umbilical cord or dried yolk? I had a similar thing happen to one of my ducklings and it went away on its own a few days later

If it is the vent, will it be able to defecate?
