I think it might just be an umbilical cord or dried yolk? I had a similar thing happen to one of my ducklings and it went away on its own a few days laterView attachment 2696414this chick (day old, assisted hatch) has a kind of bloody yellow thing stuck on its vent. It hasn't fluffed up yet but when I try to pull it out with tweezers, it brings along a long tube. I don't want to pull out it's inside parts so I just left it there but what should I do now? It has been there since it got out of the egg. Dried up yolk maybe?
If it is the vent, will it be able to defecate?I think it might just be an umbilical cord or dried yolk? I had a similar thing happen to one of my ducklings and it went away on its own a few days later
It will most likely dry up and fall off/get pushed out by poopIf it is the vent, will it be able to defecate?
