So we have five, 7 week old, Silkie chicks. We do not want all five and I have someone who is willing to take 3 without knowing genders which is great. But, I would love to at least end up with 1 pullet to keep our current Silkie cockerel company. I have a couple pics that I think 1 may be a roo and one a pullet but would love more experienced input. Thank you for any and all best guesses.
The first one is what I believe to be a roo because of crest, possible saddle feathers and pics of hackle feather area. Pics in that order.
The second is what I think could possibly be a pullet as I do not see the pointed saddle feathers (if in fact what I think they would look like is correct) and the head and neck fluff seems a slight more uniform in length. Only 3 head shots of this one because I did not see any pointy feathers.
