I also question whether there may be other more corrupt motivations... like influence from the poultry industry. NCC is well known for their lobbying and it would not surprise me at all if there was a pressure campaign with the CDC to publicize the dangers of keeping chickens.

Except they do this every year (publicizing salmonella outbreaks), often smaller than this one, and most often hurting commercial operations, not home growers. Such as this one. No, they don't seem particularly fond of pets.

With that being said, I can't help but admit that when you said "I’m not gonna stop cuddling my chickens... if I die, I die." my initial reaction was oh yeah I agree.

I think it is a serious concern though and good they're bringing awareness with this huge rise in popularity of backyard chickens. I've heard of folks who were young and healthy when they got it and still said it was the sickest they've ever been and how horrible it was, I can only imagine if you're older or have compromised health.. so yes I am trying to be at least a little more conscious of this. I think we all should. I can't avoid handling them completely but I'll keep washing my hands and not kiss them anymore lol.

The thing is that they post the same warning every year. Most people know the risks by now, I'm sure

What on earth is a germ xray? Are there studies done to prove your theory? Or just first hand knowledge
