Yet Another Chicken Coop!

They are fine. We lost one chicken during the evacuation but the other 10 seem unfazed by the whole thing. The animal shelter took excellent care of them!

LOL! There will be no more coop building for us. The only thing I need to do is build some sort of brooder coop. I might make one out of a child's playhouse. I would like something I could put up and take down. Will have all winter to think on that!
You could make panels and bolt them together with carriage bolts.

This is looking really good. Do you cover it in hardware cloth? are any posts dug into the ground or do you build it all on the surface?
I put hardware cloth a foot up all the way around the bottom. If a chicken rests too close to the wire, a coon can't reach and grab.
There are t posts driven into the ground, and they are strapped to the wood with metal straps, and i have posts in concrete integrated into the turkey coop.

Looking awesome so far! Love your supervisor too, he looks very helpful. ;) Hope your back gets better quickly, nothing more frustrating than having to stop when you’ve just got up and running.

I am trying to take it easy, but it is difficult when you want to keep on. I did get the door on run #1 yesterday. Today i bought the 5 foot welded wire for the top.

I understand completely. It’s sucks having to stop the momentum. Glad you’re still chipping away! Good luck :)

Sometimes it's good to keep moving, slowly, carefully, and in smaller increments than usual. Keeps things loosened up.
I was thinking it was all musculoskeletal, but today one of my fingers started to go numb so i am thinking i will call the doctor and get some tests. I think it may have started from lifting this compressor up into the Mule so much.
Took me 2 hours to do my normal one hour chores. Sigh. I didn't even try to work on the coop today, and only stapled 2 pieces of wire on the duplex bunny coop. Seems to be taking forever to finish that. I need to find the chicken wire to make the hay holder.

Well, it probably is... but tight muscles can move the vertebrae enough to pinch nerves going to the arms and legs. Had this all the time in upper back, until I started doing things with right and left hands/arms...became semi-ambidextrous, made/makes a huge difference, keeps the big muscles in balance and the vertebrae are much less likely to go out of whack far enough to pinch nerves. Learned that from a physical therapist, saved me from a lot of pain over the years.

I use my left hand almost as much as my right. In fact i have tennis elbow in my left side.
Got an appt to see the doctor tomorrow.
