This is my 2nd time (well 3rd if you include the duck eggs) to hatch silkies. I hatched last summer in June and had a pretty good success rate. I'm on day 12 and now down to 4 eggs in the bator. Out of 8 eggs, 2 were clear and the others just didn't develop. Two of the four look pretty good. The other 2 are very iffy. I have had so many problems maintaining the humidity this time. In fact, I really haven't maintained it at all. It's usually in the 45-50% range in the mornings and by the time I get home from work, it's dropped to 25-30%. I add a little water when this happens and it gets back up to the 45-50% range again. I've read alot about dry incubation in here. I guess my biggest concern is that with the extreme flucuations, there are gonna be problems. When I candled this a.m., I saw definite movement in 2 of the 4 but they don't seem to be as big as I would think they would be on day 12. Got any opinions?? I'm pretty concerned.

Im gettting ready to try to incubate again so i would like to know the answer as well. Hopefully someone will chime in soon
