Couldn’t find my old thread on Ducky.
Roo or hen? My friend and I both think hen but then again her tail… she is quite young but the tail is getting to me.
Her mom was a dark huge combed hen with a very long tail, her dad is a light Brahma

One of my hens did have long curly tail feathers but lost them on her first molt so maybe I’m overthinking it?

That’s kind of a tricky one. Her comb looks pretty red for eight weeks, but he/she doesn’t look as large or gangly as a cockerel would. I think this is a classic case of wait-and-see.

Brahmas are also slow developers so that could have something to do with it. I have a wyandotte pullet with these curly tail feathers fist pic is around 8 week’s second is around 14

That’s the tricky part- her mom was a fast maturer while her dad was a slow one so it’s a game of “which gene did she get for that” 🤣
