Oh weird. Yeah, it's definitely not white. Guess I just get to wait and see.Chickens that end up with white feathers start with yellow down. That's part of what confuses me with that chick.

So the chick I thought might be a roo is looking less rooster-like to me. Her tail is more rounded now, for one thing. I took these today, and she's 6 weeks and 2 days old.

Also, the feathers above the tail (saddle?) looked rounded to me. Could she just be a big girl, or am I deluding myself?View attachment 4137058
She is 8 weeks and 2 days today, and I just went out and took a few pictures. On one she is fluffing up her hackle feathers and although the inside bits look pointy, the feathers themselves are rounded. So at this point she's almost 8 weeks? She has the look of a pullet, the stance of a pullet, and those legs do not look thick to me. At 8 weeks a cockerels comb should be reddening even if he hasn't crowed yet.
With the lighting I can't tell for sure. The tiny wattles look red, but the comb doesn't.
If she's lead hen she could easily be taking on some of the "rooster" roles, such as protection.
