I fed my chicks twice a day although, there were only 4 bantams. Much different lol.
When I had more chicks, I would always provide food and water. I checked every few minutes- to hours or whenever I wanted to see those cute little chicks.

Also, I would use a dish with many holes in it so the chicks didn’t get it dirty.
A long chick feeder.

I have 27 chicks that are now 5 weeks old and I am using two of the feeder with holes. I usually add more feed to them twice a day. I can’t leave open feed bowls they walk in it, scrap at it and poop in it.

they will eat 5 times what your feeding plus oyster free fed please

I put a plate under their chick feeder so that when they dump it (kick it) out **some** of it is salvageable, and as mentioned by others, chicks should have free choice food, all they want.
