I found a baby barn swallow in my horse barn... but couldn't find the nest to put it back. It's got feathers, so I'm going to try to hand feed it... but the thing has MITES!
I have baby chicks in the house now, and handle my chickens in the coop daily. How can I get rid of the mites off this critter so my chickens don't get it? I know if the farm store was open I could buy dust... but it's not. And honestly I don't really want to buy dust on a bird that prob isn't going to live anyway...
I read maybe a water rinse and some type of oil? Has anyone else a good method on a little chick that didn't harm it?
