Oh, and it's lock down for the Isabell Marans! 19 out of 23 shipped eggs are locking down right now! Let's hope all 19 hatch!

Thank you AB!! I will as soon as meds take affect. I should not have helped with the roofing, but,,,, I'm stubborn. My mind just can't wrap around that my back can't hold up to what it wants to do. I hate taking meds. I just want it to stop hurting every time I breathe.....I need to LEARN how to pace myself.

Lockdown is the last 3 days of incubation. Turn off the turner, bump the humidity up, and hands off! We'll see if I can keep the incubator closed all day.

As some of you know, I run egg hatching programs in some of the public schools near me. I have one coming up soon. My usual source for eggs is still available but I thought it might be fun to get some from y'all either instead of or in addition to hers. (I know some of you did this for a teacher in another part of the state recently.) You can get the chicks back if you like. The alternative is going to a very well pre-screened home with a student or going to our farm to live. If I had to guess I'd say we'll likely be looking to set the eggs around the middle of April. I'll let you know when the date is firm.

The one we're doing is for April 13th. So we're all going to start gathering on April 1st or so. Unfortunately, it sounds like the same time frame you'll need some for yours.

Wow, I hope both @abmaddox1981 and @debgal both feel better soon!

I just woke up, made coffee but haven't added sugar and creamer yet, and I have a big peach-orange cat resting on my chest as I type this (it's not easy to type on a normal computer with a cat laying across one arm). Nothing big planned for today except a few more Sumatras hatching. It's still supposed to be raining off and on though.

Although I do plan to call McMurray in about an hour when they open and ask them to go ahead and toss a solid white male polish roo into my order.
