YO GEORGIANS! :)

Little Bit: "I see two chicks walking around in the incubator."
Me: "There are three in there."
Little Bit: "I only see two."

I went into the other room and opened the incubator that I am using as the 0-48 hours brooder and show her the three chicks ...

Me: "See, three chicks."
Little Bit: "That's not the one I was talking about."
Me:

Little Bit: "I was talking about this other one."

Well I'll be darned... there are two new hatches in another incubator.

What's in that incubator? Same thing?

I ended up with a final count of six babies this time- Out of nine that went to lockdown. However, only six ever internally pipped- and all of those hatched! :clap

Flower, the chick looks great! Great job. Will it be able to stay unsplinted now or does it need more?

Oh wait- I forgot- it's going back home today.

When I realized which bator she was talking about I was REALLY hoping that one of my mutts had hatched but it's just more Marans.
Im looking for a marans that lays this dark of an egg? do you have any? Although, my DH said he wouldn't eat these eggs. He thinks they look rotten! LOL.. Think they would do great in my multi-colored egg gift carton that I sell.

I need a dark egg!

I have had some that laid that dark but they have lightened over time. (That happens when the don't get a break in their laying, so I've read.) Even the lighter ones that I'm getting are a nice deep brown, though. I'll have to get you some pictures so that you can see them.
