YO GEORGIANS! :)

So chicks hatching in the house, rabbits having babies in the hutches and the geese making a gigantic mess!!!! Ugh! The geese were my idea so I try not to complain too much but for heaven's sake!

400
. I'm starting to collect eggs for my bater 11 marans and 3 mutts so far

Hatching madness going on here. Brahmas, Isbars, Crested Cream Legbars, Marans, and some mutts.

Fun, fun, fun! Hey, Are you going to be selling any of the Isbars or Marans? Trying to add a couple of colors to my egg basket.

Were these supposed to be porcelain silkies? I forgot...

Yep...and cuckoo silkies. Ended up with one out of 26. Ugh!

We won't be selling Isbars ... as for Marans, I've got a few folks ahead of you but I should still have some available.

That really stinks on the Silkies.

Morning all!

Question. Well, statement then question ;)

My Brahmas are now 8 wks old. I'm about to move the SLWs in with the brahmas. The SLWs are 6 weeks old. I've read you are supposed to change feed to finisher at 10 weeks. What should I do about the 2 week age difference?

Feed all starter until the youngest are 10 wks?
Feed finisher to all when brahmas are 10 wks (SLWs 8 wks)?
Feed half starter and half finisher when brahmas are 10 wks (SLWs 8 wks)?

Any advice on this is appreciated. I don't want to mess up anyone's growth.

Good morning and Happy Easter everyone! We're traveling today, and if you are too, have a safe trip :). The Zoo family has a festive week planned, so I'll be less able to check in on everyone's hatching, etc. I hope it all goes well for everyone :). On the subject of babies: I do not have one anymore, it's official. The little zookeeper turned four yesterday. I'm not allowed to call her "baby", and she's taking stock of lots of things. She's been asking about all the things she needed a grown up to help with, and checking see if she's old enough to do them herself now. Oh boy... here we go.

Which ever way you decide won't really matter all that much with them only being 2 weeks apart. I actually feed mine starter until they are closer to point of lay - but I gradually add more and more scratch grains in. Then once they start laying, I switch them to a layer feed.
