YO GEORGIANS! :)

I HATE GA ants! I really do. I keep hitting the 20 something ant mountains in the yard with DE but it doesn't seem to be doing anything so far this week.... they just move a few inches away! What can I do?

DE doesn't really help with ants, but, depending on the size of the ant hill, you can use 1/4-1/2 cup of quick grits. Don't use instant, they'll just eat those.

Its been a busy and hard past few weeks, but its all over. All the chickens and turkeys are finally moved and happy!!!
@abmaddox1981 - DH brought home the latch for the coop!! it only had a handle on the outside so if you went in and it closed you were trapped inside the coop!! thus the bungee cord. Locking mechanism now has a turn knob on both sides !!! I am one happy girl.
How many times did he get locked inside before he realized that? LOL

I kill them with those fire ant granules. The chickens don't seem to bother it (as long as they don't see me sprinkle it on the mounds, because ALL moving things = food to them). Just sprinkle it on, and give it a few days for the ants to pick it up and carry it inside to the queen. The entire mound dies. You'll either notice a small group of ants dead or dying in a little pile outside of the mound, or you'll notice no new building activity (fresh, loose dirt) on top of the mound. I forgot the brand I use, but it comes in a bright orange bag.

Sounds like everything is going smoothly here. Got meds from the vet clinic yesterday if anyone can help me confirm use/dose/what I missing itwould be aappreciated the pics are in my album. Otherwise I go with what the young lady gave me as something might be more to region or gov regulations so I have to keep that in mind and im going to see if my fil uses anything for his poor animals. Lets just say I feel bad that he doesnt want a woman telling him how to take care of animals when hes done it all his life, but if my animals live longer, and are well cared for he will see I can do it and so all I can do is be the example here. Enjoy your day.

Looked at the photo, but it's blurry. I can't see what the medication is. What is it for?

Wow!! What a gorgeous morning. Feels like the beach out here on the porch swing. :)

Well, the Brahmakins made it through their first night of lamp-less torture. They sure were glad to see me, lol.

The Marans' cage (all hardware cloth) doesn't have big enough holes for a decent pic but they are good too.

In duck news, DS and I went out a bit ago looking for Mama Mallard's new nest. Papa Mal was alone in the yard so I knew she was off laying. We had been looking for about 20minutes when my sweet neighbor called us over to the fence. She had egg cartons and chow-chow (yum!) and we talked for MAYBE 2-3 minutes.

Got back and who do you think was back out on the water? :gig Ugh, I know she was watching for us to have our backs turned!

Dang, I wish I knew it was you who had the mallards laying. I ended up buying one yesterday from TSC for my nephew. I would have bought some eggs from you to hatch, instead!

Well, if I could keep TRACK of her! LOL. I've managed to snag a few from her. She finally decided the nest by the porch steps was too close. She was fine with us going by, but when Dobergirl would tear out the door each morning for her first romp, Mama would explode off the nest, lol. Silly girl. I did find one nest out under a big brushy tree in the pasture, with several busted-up eggs. :(
