YO GEORGIANS! :)

Ok, I have a question for y'all to weigh in on. I have had turkey eggs incubating at abmaddox's place since my girls started laying this season, but the first batch quit and the others are only about halfway along. GAM has a batch, so now I want to get some eggs of my own started before the girls quit for the summer or something weird. The problem is that we'll be out of town again for three days around memorial day. If my house sitter is unable to turn eggs (no turner), do we think it's better to move the bator to someone else's house for three days, or just bring it with us to the cabin if I have to move it anyway (not a long drive and the car has an adapter)? I'm really not wanting to put off incubating my own batch of turkeys until after memorial day :(. I told Mr. Zoo that we can't schedule any trips next year during baby season! I've gotten new gray hairs over leaving expectant moms, newborns, eggs in other people's incubators, and brooders full of chicks!

I would say go with whichever one is closer. But I think someone else's house is best. That way, you don't have to move them DURING incubation.

Thanks for tagging me!

I may not be online much for a while. My Husband put my laptop on the roof of the van while being helpful and busy and then accidentally took it for a ride. It didn't like the roof I guess so it jumped off. Dead. It took so many photos and my blog work with it. -sigh-

Oh that's terrible! I have lost photos to a hard drive crash, and it really hurts :(. And when your husband was being helpful and everything...

The hard drive itself may be recoverable even though the laptop is toast. At least you may be able to recover your pics and such.

We are geeks and thought the same thing. We put the hard drive into 3 other laptops and so far no signs of life. Tried to boot with an external to jump the start up to get into but that failed too :(

Does it spin up at all? Any physical damage to the drive or connectors? Do you get any error messages when trying to access it?

Has anyone heard from @Book lately? I was wondering how the chicks she hatched around Easter are doing.

All is well with the feathered ones around here! I was sad we TSC had no more chicks when we went. We wanted a few more to add to the 3 bantams to make their own flock!

How are things there?

Sounds like everyone is very busy this week. I gotta question, I have a chick that was bought around mar 31. We estimated her born on 24th. Two months later and she is the smallest of my chicks even ones bought after her. I have a photo of her in my album named Calypso. Her facial markings remind me of an emperor penguin in shades of carmel and brown. Could she be bantam? I have no clue to breed or if even female lol. From photos im guessing a golden seabright? Her only adult feathers are her wings she is still fuzzy everywhere else while others purchaed with her are more developed. Do I need to worry? And the one called Braum Stoker purchased same day has no feathers or fuzz on his butt or underbelly? Normal? Like a partial "rudy" no apparent feathers just in that region. No sign of mites, bugs, plucking..since we got him. Thanks.

So excited to be getting some little runners around the 20th if the price is right (the life of a high school senior is a poor one). I'm really hoping I'm able to get them as my college is allowing me to bring them to school with me in spring! I'm sure the little beauties will be wonderful company. :)
