Is it better to let the eggs just lay in the bottom of the bater from Day 18 on or put them in a carton for the last three days thanks

What does it mean when a chick that hatched this morning has blood in its poop? The chick is walking around drinking and eating a little.

I'm freaking out and nearly in tears. I got my 12 chicks in today and my daughter had one egg to hatch so we put her little silkie with my 12 1 day olds and then this. Do you know what I should do for the silkie? It had pasty butt and I cleaned it with a wet qtip then a few minutes later bloody poo. I have water out food out and water/electrolyte/probiotics mix.I read about that. I can't remember the explaination about why it sometimes happens, but the bottom line is that it does happen and the chick should be ok.
Sounds like you did all you could for her at the moment. Hope she does okay.I'm freaking out and nearly in tears.
