YO GEORGIANS! :)

I also learned that chances are at least one of my 4 ducks is a drake. We picked them all up till they quaked or squeaked tonight to get down and at least two solid quakers, so girls. We are unsure about the third, the one with the drake feather very much squeaked. I am ok with one drake and three hens! Do I need to rehome one of them if the other proves to be a drake with just 2 hens?

Guess its a good thing I dont live near any of you, I would be snapping up all those free chickens! Wish I could find more chicken lovers here. My boys are really developing their crow this week but each takes a turn so unless I happen to be outside I cant tell them apart.
today I was giving them breakfast and as usual they gather at the door clamoring over each other to get first bites. A few run the length of the balcony then come running back in a slide on the tiles. One walked into the kitchen while I was washing the water dish and I thought everyone was back inside the coop. Well I was cleaning up and here comes Armat looking for food. I had to grab he/she up and put it back in the pen. Just about missed breakfast! If anyone can check my pics of my bunch it would be great. Few have very little combs but feathers are curving around their tails, most have upright tails but I noticed one has little or no visible tail. They are all within 2 weeks of each other. And do roos cackle? I got a few that have no combs making more of a hens cackle when im out there talking with them. I need to take few more pics I guess if folks question them let me know what shots you need.

So it seems I got excited about the Roo doing his "thing" with a hen for no good reason. Facebook BYC people told me Roos can start early. I was really in hopes it was a sign that he and the hens we got with him are older than the 4 months we had been told. Now back to waiting till August for eggs! LOL Oh the plight of newbies!
Yep. One of my little squirts tried to mount a hen THREE TIMES his size the moment she entered his run today!! :lau

I was like, really!? Haha. She brought him back to reality in short order. ;)

I saw that, not far from me either! I would actually love to see one. If there is one around here then at least I would feel like I had a good excuse to put in an electric fence!
We went to eat with our daughter and Son in law last night at the local Mexican restaurant and as we were leaving our SIL's uncle and aunt that live across the highway from them drove up. We were standing outside talking when his uncle said something about the bear spotted in Augusta area may have been one that was in their yard a few months ago. I was shocked! My daughter never said they had a bear in their area.

I was told to look for signs of the hens face, wattles and comb turning more red which is what one of our Red hens is doing. The alpha rooster's comb, wattles and face seemed to over night turn redder and then he started dancing. We got the nest boxes ready so just waiting now.

Alright. Most of you know the county here said I can't have poultry do I had to move my ENTIRE flock to a friend's place.
Well, we have *finally* found a property we like at a really *really* good price. We're going to look at it this morning. Wish is luck!!!
