YO GEORGIANS! :)

We went to eat with our daughter and Son in law last night at the local Mexican restaurant and as we were leaving our SIL's uncle and aunt that live across the highway from them drove up. We were standing outside talking when his uncle said something about the bear spotted in Augusta area may have been one that was in their yard a few months ago. I was shocked! My daughter never said they had a bear in their area.

Definitely something we need to be on the look out now for and mindful. I am most concerned about my little kids and the fact that we all spend a lot of time in our open yard after dark!

I was told to look for signs of the hens face, wattles and comb turning more red which is what one of our Red hens is doing. The alpha rooster's comb, wattles and face seemed to over night turn redder and then he started dancing. We got the nest boxes ready so just waiting now.

I am actually stalking you because I know that soon after you get eggs we should here too! LOL

Yep. One of my little squirts tried to mount a hen THREE TIMES his size the moment she entered his run today!!

Boys! smh all balls sometimes and no brains!

So I found a deformed egg this morning in the coop. Was very soft and has broken upon being lain. I guess somebody didnt take advantage of the oyster shell I put in a few weeks ago. This being the 3rd egg and the other 2 being hard as a rock I figure another hen has begun to lay. Hopefully they figure out the boxes soon. I ordered some extended grabbers in hopes that I don't have to crawl in the coop again ;) .

You just remember how lucky you are to have me.

I think poor Carcar just threw up a little in her mouth.

A "vurp" moment for sure.

Don't worry. Almost every time I've ever had a new layer, I get a soft egg or two. Lots of times I think it just has to do with their system getting the timing down, than with diet alone. Enjoy!
