YO GEORGIANS! :)

Howdy Georgians!

I'm in your lovely state for a few months, working on Fort Stewart and staying in a Savannah hotel. I've had a good time so far, but I MISS MY BIRDS!!! It's like a major portion of my mental health therapy has suddenly ceased.

Hit me up if I can visit with your backyard flock for a spell, and I'll gladly bring a bag of feed.

Cheers!

Bryan

keeping my fingers crossed for you.. nothing like have a little land to spread out and raise both animals and veggies that you enjoy..

Thomson, Ga here as well. Can any one direct me to proper website or ordinance to verify if I can have chickens in city limits? Just looking for some eggs not a full fledged poultry farm...

You can go to your planning and zoning department in your town. If they dont have one, go to the county planning and zoning department.

Just waving hi to everyone.... It's busy spring so I'm not hear much. Hope all is well!!! I tried to play super farmer lately and got 80% of our shrubs trimmed by hand and I looked down and saw what I thought was climbing ivy and oh my it was poison ivy....After washing up with comet and dawn and then dabbed the area with jewel weed soaked in alcohol. I at least put out the first fight.... Just hate that stuff. I tried to boil it away last year, it didn't work I think I'll just bring out a little boy goat to eat it all up! they love the stuff... Well I better get back to work out side, See y'all later.

I attended the GA Ag Dept egg candling class in Hamilton today. The written test was fine, but then we had to candle and grade 100 eggs. By the end I didn't *care* anymore, I just wanted out of that room!!!

It wasn't very well organized and started with an inappropriate political joke, so all in all I was Not Impressed. But, you're supposed to have a license in order to sell eggs, so hopefully I passed.

Has anyone else taken it?

No, I haven't but it would be interesting to attend if it were organized well. So, do you need to attend if you are selling eggs for consumption?
