Will be so glad when fall comes! My chickens only laid 6 eggs today! (out of about 20 hens!) I visited a lady in FL this weekend and she said she is only getting about 5 eggs from 35 hens! She also said her friend just lost 6 chickens this week from the heat! Chickens do so much better in cold than in heat! I have about 10 pullets that should start laying next month and hope that all my older hens start laying again soon!
 
I moved our evil EE roo (he tried to scratch my daughters (she is 14) eyes out.) out of the flock and moved our Black Copper Maran Roo and one of his girls (his other girl is on eggs right now) to the flock. The great thing is the BCM Hen lays in the nesting box we made and thanks to her she got one of the 3 pullets we have in the shed mix to lay in the box too! I am soooo happy. I hope the others catch on now too!

It's the little things in life! LOL
 
Well, I took a chance and moved the chicks in with the other hens. Everything seems to be going relatively well, no "major" fights. During the day I put all of them together in the yard, but at night they're separated. Fingers crossed!

I have a very colorful flock, hehe. 2 New Hampshire Reds, 1 Americana, 1 RHR, 1 Buff, 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Black Stars, and 2 Brahmas. Only the NHRs, Americana, and a Brahma are laying--everyone else is still growing.
 
Hello dominogirl you don't need a rooster do you I have two one blue copper marans and one blue splash marans I sell them cheap
