She absolutely loves them. Cheep (she decided that was the male) is free-ranging happily on the farm. Peep is in her Silkie coop with a partridge roo and a black hen. :)

Just a reminder folks, Tractor Supply in Fort Oglethorpe will be having another trade day tomorrow September 20 from 10am-2pm, bring anything you like (more than just poultry!) there is NO set up fee. AND we will also be having pet adoptions from Catoosa County Citizens for Animal Care, pony rides, vendor give a ways, Cornerstone Vet will be there for vaccines on animals both large and small. A $200 gift card will be given away towards dog food and a $100 rebate vet certificate will also be awarded. Local FFA will be there cooking for those who get hungry! I know for such a couple people from BYC are going and some folks from the Tri State Poultry Swap group and a bunch from the North GA Chickens group (both on facebook) will be bringing their animals to sell and their shopping list to buy. Hope to see y'all there!!!

Not sure who laid it. One of the Point of lay pullets.

Has anyone ever used the free wood chicks from the county in a coop? Any ideas on pros and cons?

We have a place near us that gives away free mulch and we use it in our run. The mulch comes from locals who do yard work. The people or the city picks up/brings the branches and shrubs to the mulch center. They run it through the chipper and give it away. You scoop it and you transport it. It's always fresh and smells like yummy pine! Our chicks love it. They scratch around in it all day long!

What are wood chicks? And why does the county give them away?

Ha ha ha. Typo. Free wood chips are at the garbage drop off in Dawsonville. They even have a tractor to load your truck with them. They are just ground up trees that they remove from roadways when the trees fall. Just wondering if they could be used.

Hello all I have a question some of my chickens are coughing or sneezing what can I give them to help this thanks
