I've been feeding and giving them water outside of our pen since we found them sticking around. They are living in our plum trees now. We just don't want the Game roosters going in the pen and attacking our chickens. Two of the three Game roosters have very long spurs. I have no idea where the hens are laying their eggs. My husband said we have reached our chicken limit for our coop size. I'm still trying to contact the actual owners. BTW had to look up CYOA to figure out what it meant. LOL!As for basically abandoned chickens: would you turn away a puppy left behind? ;-) Feed em if you can then haul em to a farm. Ask around for folks that will take them in. The brother obviously doesn't know about chickens or doesn't want them, he'd probably not even notice or be glad they're gone. Keep the ones you want. Maybe leave a note on the door with a time frame to contact you before you take action. Sounds like he doesn't care but leaving a note first will cyoa just in case![]()
@RoboDuck
What is a Scobie duck? http://augusta.craigslist.org/grd/4691643883.html I just saw this add for them under the farm and garden section on Craigslist. Tried looking Scobie duck up but didn't see anything.
Oh, Ok. That makes sense. I was wondering why I couldn't find anything with that spelling for ducks.Muscovies...just people who can't spell. Same people that own Rockwilders and Doverman Pinchards.

My favorite I ever saw was "barn builder chickens". (They meant "Barnevelder".)
Actually, I do sell my eggs, and by law have to wash them. I don't normally wash my eggs for myself unless they are really dirty..I rather just keep my eggs dirty. Keep them fresher natural, but if your selling to yuppies? No idea
