I just lost my 5 week old wheaten marans. Boo. I had noticed she had a slight cough last week. Must be all this bad weather. The other chicks seem fine.

So sorry to hear it We lost an 8 week old chick who came out of the egg with leg issues and nothing we tried fixed them. We had hope he might make it till Christmas so he could be a meal at least but... We hadn't lost any in so long that this one stings sharply. Anyway, I hope all your other chickens are well and you don't lose any more!

       Can you go threaten the owner of the Dogs with the vet bill? 

I might try I might not...I really hate taking legal action around here. If they know someone or if they are broke then it's worthless

Hey. Had friends from FL. Spent the day showing them the beautiful North Ga mountains. Then four wheeling around the property and then they all helped to clean the chicken coops! So we all had a good time!

Thought I was the only one who enjoyed coop cleaning day. The only help I get is 6 hens helping me.

Weeew finally found a vet that would see my chicken and stitch her up. I'm amazed she made it this long

What was I thinking! I thought we were still getting lots of daylight hours for the chickens to keep laying, but we are only getting 10 hours right now! Time to turn the lights on!
