YO GEORGIANS! :)

I found this tiny egg in our larger coop run today. Somebody had a tiny accident.

I couldn't see anything in the tiny egg when I candled it. I think it may just be the shell. Has anyone ever seen this happen before?

These are both greenish blue eggs. I put the normal sized one in to show how tiny the other one is. I just couldn't get the color to show inside and no sun today so...

Those are oops eggs. There is no yolk in them. They happen when a chicken (usually a newbie) sluffs off a piece of tissue and it follows the lines down the same path as an egg usually would. I have had 3 in three years. They are fun to show to people.

@Flowerbh did you see the post about the rooster's comb?

Yes. Not sure how to answer. Most EEs have pea combs, slate or greenish legs, beards or no beards. They should carry a blue egg shell gene. Not sure if yours are EEs with that comb. I mean, I don't know. It's hard to tell. what do others think? Do you know what his parents were?

I know the black one does carry the blue egg shell gene because I have one of his off spring. She was given to me by the original owner of the Free Rangers left behind. Our neighbor said she was his and a Gamefowl hen was her mama. She of course looks totally different from him.

She has slate blue feet and lays a blue egg. She was our first EE hen to lay this past year. I caught her in the nest one day and when she got up there sat a pretty blue egg.

Big Boy's feet look more green and he has a beard but I don't know anything about his parents or if he produced off spring. He is a big softy. If I am working in their pen he stays right near me. He is the only one of the Free Rangers that will come right up to me. He is low on the pecking order and more like a look out so I doubt I get off spring from him unless I put him in a pen with a hen or two and no others. I may just do that in the future if nothing happens to him. I saved him once from another neighbors German Shepard.

I got the Welp 2015 catalog yesterday just as I was thinking about ordering since no one around here tends to want to start "Spring" as early as me. They have Ameraucana pictured and Easter Eggers. The descriptions ARE different and they do have their disclaimer about breeding as close to SOP as possible but no garauntee on SQ of ALL birds. I was very satisfied with the breeds I got in Oct 2012 and so were customers that bought from me. I will be placing an order for RIR, WL again, dark RIR, and Ameraucanas. Their AMs have pea combs which I like. EE v/s AM? I don't care...just give me blue/green eggs!;-)
