Shipped eggs have been resting overnight. I don't see floating air cells, actually I don't see any air cell but definitely not detached either way. Can I go ahead and put them in? I have to work tonight and would like to see temps stable when I leave instead of leaving it right when I put them kn..
Some of my fresh eggs I set for the NYD HAL didn't show air cells when I set them but they still hatched.Shipped eggs have been resting overnight. Wish I could join y'all with your hatching. Maybe I will get an incubator soon. I told my husband I wanted one like your's Flower. I looked at the reviews on it and from what you said it looks like the best. Are y'all planning to sell the chicks your hatching at the swap on V-day? I plan to take some of the chicks our broody mamas hatched for New Years.ok, I've done it now! Yesterday I waited all day for hens to lay their usual 16-20 eggs so I could put them in the bator. I only got 9 yesterday and they weren't the ones I really wanted. But, I started the bator last night and stuck 47 in there. It only holds 42! So, this morning DH goes out and gets 7 eggs right off the bat and they were all the ones I wanted! Well, now I have 54 doubled up in my bator. After 10 days, when I take the infertile ones out, the ones left should all have their own space. I just have to remind myself to let the eggs incubate for an extra day at the end! Aahhhahha! I love this!

Hello all.
Work has been busy, so I have been lurking in the background, drooling at the pictures of all the cute chickens and chicks and beautifully colored eggs. Dreaming ways to add more chickens and wondering if I could get a pond so I can have ducks...![]()
I re-did my coop plan, changed the roof design so I can have the nests in the same side as the trap door and the roosts on the other side, keeping the path to the nests away from roosts. Would anyone care/have time to take a look? I added the new plans to signature below as it had been suggested.
Planning on using cedar for the sides and the corrugated plastic roofing from lowes for the roof. Should I add anything below the plastic roof? Insulation or wood?
Thinking mostly of summer getting too hot. I hope there is enough ventilation. I do think it will be draft free since the ventilation is well above where heads should be in the roosts
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
